15 02 13: Fashion Victim the Musical

This weekend we're hosting a pop-up musical as part of London Fashion Week!

FASHION VICTIM - THE MUSICAL is a thoroughly modern morality tale set in the cut throat world of la mode. Boo, hiss or cheer - as you see fit - the chutzpah of Mimi Steele in this story of laughs, love and sharp practices in the cutting edge world of fashion.

The show 'pops up' for just two days at Roxy Bar and Screen in Borough to coincide with London Fashion Week (Fri 15th / Sat 16th Feb ) and will be a must for all front row fashionistas in the making.

Written by Toby Rose, creator of ‘Discotivity' which premiered on the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007 starring Michelle McManus, he is also behind the Palm Dog Awards at Cannes Film Festival. Fashion Victim The Musical will be directed by Robert McWhir of the Landor Theatre, whose recent award-winning shows include I Love You Because, Curtains and Ragtime.

Friday and Saturday, 7:30pm

07 06 13: Daft Punk’s Interstella 555 and Electroma

Getting dangerously close to Daft Punk saturation point? Want to push yourself over the edge? For its very first outing, Sonic Celluloid will be immersing itself in the Daft Arts to present you a double-bill of films created by the Gallic disco robotniks.

Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (2003)

Four blue-skinned alien musicians are snatched from their home planet by an evil record producer. Can the band ever recover their real identities and return back home? An animated sci-fi musical inspired by the 70s cartoons of Daft Punk’s youth co-created with legendary Japanese animator Leiji Matsumoto, this is an epic space-opera of friendship, music and intergalatic travel!

Electroma (2006)

A robot road movie set in the Californian desert, Daft Punk’s directorial debut is a visual spectacular telling the story of two aliens who fall to earth on a quest for human identities. With a soundtrack including Brian Eno, Todd Rundgren, Curtis Mayfield, Sebastien Tellier and stunning special effects from makeup maverick Tony Gardiner, Electroma is a modern cult classic that has to be experienced on the big screen.

After the films, DJs will be spinning the sounds that inspired Daft Punk into the early hours.

Starts 7.30pm  (doors open 6pm)
